Hey Hey #PolishedPeople,
It's your girl ThePolishedLady and over the weekend I was a vendor at the Indianapolis Urban League (IUL) Entrepreneur Fair. As most of you know with me being booked to go live at different events; I don't get the opportunity to vend at most events. I decide to vend and bring out some of my merchandise for those who were interested in supporting the brand. I met a lot of new #PolishedPeople while I was out vending and I collected 55 new email addresses to add to my newsletter/website.
The cool part about this vending fair in particular was the IUL team gifted the first 500 attendees with IUL Bucks which they could spend with any vendors they wanted to support. I saw a lot of my business friends outside vending such as PrettyPKollection, Midwest Leak, Born 2 Win Apparel and many more. The event was from 10am til 2pm.
Inside of the IUL building they had an entrepreneurship panel going on. The two businesses that sat on the panel were : Pop a Kernel Popcorn & Urban Beauty Supply. I appreciated how each business owner was very honest about their journey when they were beginning in business. The best questions the moderator asked was "Did you have any "nay-sayers" and how did you stay motivated through the tough times?" Mr. Jerrod Cox of Pop A Kernel said the thing that keeps him motivated to stay in business is that he doesn't have to clock in and out on nobody else's clock, and he can go on lunch/breaks when he wants to or go on vacation as well.
I went back outside to support some other businesses like Kiss of Silk, I bought some cookies n cream truffles from The Sweet Potato Co. and of course I had to get me another bottle of "Awaken" from Sip and Share Wine. I also got new pair of Yellow earrings from my girl, She Clay All Day. I sold three "Stay Polished" Duffel bags, had a great time and I look forward to doing this event next year.
Thank you for reading my latest blog would love it if you share with your friends and family as well. Also all of the businesses mentioned in this blog are #BlackOwned, support them by buying from them or even sharing a like on their business pages to support them in the future.
Stay Polished,
ThePolishedLady
